Hello all,
I've had an AEM FPR on my 6psi JR setup for over 2 years now and the other day, the AEM decided to fill it's vaccum line with fuel also and my intake manifold. Upon inspection, it appeared that everything was ok on the inside and out of the regulator. So I reinstalled it and tried again... with the same result. I put the stock regulator back on and after a struggle, the car started up and is running fine(other than getting 14mpg with stock regulator and the powerful walbro pump).
Bottom line is that I want a different kind of regulator (brand). I'd prefer to get back up to the 28mpg I was getting. Any suggestions as to which other regulator would be a good choice?

I have been using a Holley regulator for a while with no problems. Its a little bigger than the AEM, but I think it looks killer.

If fuel is getting into your vac line, its most likely due to the diaphram in the AEM being torn/seeping etc. I've had this happen to me on my cartech's and the stock JR FMU's (different devices, but same concept). The fuel is getting through the diaphram and into the top of the regulator.

So, it's just somethin that happens then. Does anyone know where I can get more diaphrams? Will AEM sell new ones? Or do I have to shell out another 120$ for a new FPR?

you should be able to buy new ones from AEM. I can't see them being all that expensive either.

I am pretty sure that AEM was having issues with the earler diaphrams that were in there FPR's. It is ver likely that they will give you a new diaphram under warranty.

Actually, they may not warranty the diaphragm. I had one fail in less than TWO days, and they would not take care of mine. They suggested that I BUY their diaphragm repair kit (which includes another diaphragm) for something like $30.00.
So, the broken AEM FPR is still here... and I haven't sold another one since.

So, maybe I'll just order that kit and see how it goes. That's terrible that they wont stand behind their product.
